What is Henna

Henna is a paste made from the Lawsonia plant that grows in a high-heat low-moisture climate. The henna plant is native to northern Africa, Asia, and northern Australia. Most henna growers are from a small region of India and Pakistan. The leaves of the Lawsonia (henna) plant are dried and ground into a fine powder. Artists mix this powder into a paste using specific and skin-safe monoterpenoids that cause the plant to release its dye. This henna paste applied to the skin makes a bond with the skin's keratin. This bond is permanent. BUT our incredible bodies are constantly turning over new skin cells, thus exfoliating the dyed cells.

how to care for your Henna

Our Henna is 100% natural, meaning that there are NO false dyes added. Your design may take 30 minutes to dry into a clay-like paste. Leave your henna on as long as possible, our recommendation is at least 4 hours, longer is even better. DO NOT WASH OFF. Scrap the remaining paste (henna) off. The design will be orange and will take up to 72 hours to get to its darkest color (48 hours is most typical). Do your best to keep the design away from water for 24 hours after the paste is removed. You can cover it with a water-repelling balm, like chapstick, or Vaseline while showering. Keep your henna hydrated. Natural lotions are best. Henna will disappear as your body naturally exfoliates. The longer you leave your paste on and the better your aftercare will determine how long your design will last. Most designs will last for one week, the design will be the darkest in color where skin is thickest, like fingers and palms. ENJOY your henna.

Hasina Chai: Melaleuca Cajeputi, Melaleuca Quinquenervia, Lavender (Bulgaria), Cardamom, Clove Bud, Black Pepper, Coriander , Star Anise, Cinnamon Leaf, Vanilla.

Indian Summer: Melaleuca Cajeputi , Lemon Eucalyptus, Palmarosa, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, Geranium Bourbon.
